Fifty Shades of Grey

Fifty Shades of Grey - E.L. James I had to read it, what with all the hype and all. One word to describe this - stinkbomb. Seriously? The story line is beyond ridiculous, I mean BE-YOND!!! I'm willing to suspend my disbelief for a good read, but come on. A virginal chick who is willing to get boned by a relative stranger and get spanked, etc... is really going to refer to her vag as, "down there". Seriously? AND she has (several) orgasams the very first time she has sex?!?!

The characters are all hideously unlikeable. The dialogue is painful. The writing is, well, I don't want to be mean - but very amateurish. Even the dirty bits are boring.

It kinda reminds me of reading "dirty" books like Jackie Collins, etc.. when I was in junior high and giggling uncontrollably with my friends over lines like, "I came so hard I half peed." The difference being, I'm not in junior high anymore, so my standards for titilation are much higher, and at least Jackie Collins wrote some half-way entertaining stuff.

I gave up half way through....if I want cheesy porn to read, I'll stick with Penthouse Forum.
