Recommended to me by a sweet elderly lady at the laundromat. So far, it's moving a bit slow....keeping an open mind, though. 3 Aug 2013
It did have a very, very sloooooow start. But the little old lady from the laundromat did warn me that it started slow, but was worth it. About half way through, I was just about ready to give up. Then, everything started to come together. I stayed in bed for most of the day reading, because I just couldn't put it down. There are a lot of interesting characters. Louise Penny does a fabulous job of painting a picture - of the town, the people, the season. The writing was excellent. All in all, it is definitely worth reading and I've already ordered book 2 in the series.
